Game start issue
Hey guys, hope someome can help me. I have the Scourge of war series and after updating to matrix download, everytime I click the exe. to start the game, the game menu come up, When I hit the play button nothing happens. I can click on all other icons on the screen and everything starts as it should. It is just the play button and the game will not start. I was able to run it previously with no problems. I have an Alienware Aurora R2, Windows 8 pro, Intel I5 2.8 ghz, 6 GB RAM, Radeon 5670 HD Graphics in crossfire.
Any help will be mutch appreciated, I would really love to play this game again.

Re: Game start issue
1. Have you installed the version 1.61 patch?
2. Are you talking about the Matrix Games menu?

Re: Game start issue
Yeah i have the newest patch version. I tried to delete everything. Even went in deleted the registry keys. Reinstalled. I am talking when you first hit the exe file to run the game. The game menu comes up that says play, game menu and check for updates. When i hit play nothing happens. Game does not try to load or anything.

Re: Game start issue
Alright just found out it will start the game when I have the computer in safe mode, of course I can't play it because the graphics are messed up, so i least know it is installing correctly.

Re: Game start issue
Ok, please do this:
After you hit play and the game stops working, exit the game (kill it via task manager if you have to) and go to your Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work folder and find the file SOWGB.log. Please paste the contents of the file in this thread and hopefully it will help us determine the issue.

Re: Game start issue
Also, it may be a Win 8 compatibility problem. Go into your main SOWGB folder and right click on SOWGB.exe, select properties. Select Compatibility and enable Win 7 or XP...see if either works.

Re: Game start issue
I tried every different compatibility there was, ran it as administrator still nothing. Little side note when I click on the SOWGB.eve link directly instead of going through autorun.exe it says that the windows can not access the specified device, path, or file
Re: Game start issue
Have you tried setting the Graphic's Card to the default status?I was able to run it previously with no problems.
EDIT Post - To add this:
Also, make sure that the game is Installing under the same directory.
I don't have the Matrix Install, but I thought that it installed under a different directory.
