I am considering purchasing this game, but am concerned about the video hardware requirements (discreet video card with no shared memory).
I have a relatively new PC that does not have a CPU or GPU, but rather an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). This is an AMD Vision 2.8 GHZ quad core processor paired with an ATI Radeon HD 6550-D graphics processor embedded together on the same chip. In other words, the GPU is not integrated on the motherboard, but actually integrated on the same dye as the CPU. RAM is 8 gigs and I think the GPU may use some of this. OS is Win 8.
Will this game run OK on such a system?
Given it easily runs all the Total War stuff, it would seem odd that it would not.
Here are the graphics chip specs:
Core Speed - 600 MHZ
Architecture - Beaver Creek
Memory - 512 Megs
Maximum
Shared Memory - 1024 megs
Memory Speed -
Memory Bus - 128 bit
Memory Type - DDR 3
Memory Bandwidth -
Shader
Processing Units - 400
Direct X - 11
Shader - 5.0
Open GL - 4.1
Resolution (WxH) - 2560 x 1600
Max Power - 100 W

Re: SOW Chancellorsville - Hardware Question
I think you'll be fine. What are the rest of your specs, memory, CPU?
You can always download the 1.4 demo linked above and try Gettysburg out. Keep in mind the Chancellorsville maps run much smoother than the Gettysburg maps.

I think you have more than enough machine to run the game. But again, try out the demo yourself.
