Coming soon - Desaturated Terrain for Gettysburg, Pipe Creek and Antietam

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Coming soon - Desaturated Terrain for Gettysburg, Pipe Creek and Antietam

Post by Crikey »

Once released, this mod will activate new desaturated terrain for the Gettysburg, Pipe Creek and Antietam maps.

All of the credit is due to 2nd_TX, Jolly & NSD for inspiring this mod and for the sprites used in it.

ETA - hopefully, a week or so.

These look great Crikey! If I ever get this 1.5 thing figured out, I'll definitely be looking for this.

I've used the desaturated colours on Gettysburg for a long time. It'll be great to have them active on the other maps too.

What does desaturated mean?

Is it some kind of Texan mumbled talk-through-your-teeth slang?

"Dees a thu rated colors"?

Nice Crikey....real nice!
The first photo....the tree on the right, I made that? Must have been the TC2M days, thats a nice looking tree. I need to send you some new wheat sprites.
I hope Jolly/Davvid is happy with the alterations. He always did top notch terrain mods over the years. I am glad to be associated with both of you gentelman. Good job Crikey! This place is starting to get hot with cool projects and mods like the old days of the old game....I am glad you put this together, because Chancellorsville is going to push the terrain and over-all layout and art of the maps to a new level. This mod will help the old maps look good and fresh.

Crikey is an Englishman....but I am from Texas. Desaturated means taking an existing color and adding more of a neutral or gray color to the primary colors of the original. For example, leave a black shirt in the sun outside....after a few days it will be desaturated of its original pigment or color.
-What do I know...I am from Texas.

Well, we've all heard of the book, 'The Greening of America'...

So now, from across the pond, we have, 'The Ungreening of SOW'

I like this British invasion. :)

The Brits are OK, as long as you don't mind waiting to start an MP game while they put the kettle on. :)
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

From the screens, it looks like I can read the elevations better.

Crikey - I would say that they are excellent, but that would be an understatement!

Fantastic Job, which should prove to be a must-have-mod!
