Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Revised 1.50 update for SoW Gettysburg

Post by MatrixA »

Hi All,

We haven't figured out all the issues, but we have a revised installer that will address some of the issues. It will allow you to choose your directory, and change the registration of the Map Packs if you already tried installing once and need to re-install. Be sure to change the install directory if you installed to a different directory than it suggests.

Thanks for this. Can I just confirm a couple of things?

1 - Should I deactivate my game before using this revised installer?

2 - I used the NSD recommended / deafult location of C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg for my game. When using the revised installer, I should point the installer at this location?

Thanks again.

It hasn't been proven that deactivating helps, but some people think it does. That is one thing we are still looking into.
The installer should point to your install directory automatically, but some older installers didn't create the reg values to allow this to work all the time. Or if you have copied the files to a different location than the original install, it wouldn't find the current location. In your case it should find the correct directory.

I have just:
deactivated my mods in the game (just in case)
deactivated the game (just in case)
run the revised installer
entered my three serial codes
left the install folder as correctly proposed by installer

and Bob's your uncle! I have a working v1.5 SoWG game, with add-ons.

Looking forward to trying it out in battle.

Many thanks to all at NSD, Matrix and on this forum for your efforts.

I have the game installed in the default location with the two expansions. I looked in the registry (regedit) for my serial number using the location that Mr. Slaunwhite suggested but do not see it. Is there another way to find out my serial number (downloaded game soon after release)? The revised 1.5 installer still asks for it.

Thank you

Try using the Find function in regedit.exe. Look for Norbsoftdev and use the Find Next function in case you have multiple entries in the registry. If that well is dry, shoot and email to activate (at) norbsoftware.com and they can look you up.
