Portraits

Post by 9thBtnMOS »

Hi, I looked in the SDK for some info on modifying portraits or adding completely new ones and I could not find any. Is there a way to do this? I just need to be pointed in the right direction and I 'll figure it out. Thank you.

The portraits are found in Base/Graphics/Toolbar. Not sure if the base game provides these folders and files, but maybe they can be made available to a dedicated modder to offer some new options to the community. I can't help here, this is beyond my authority, maybe an upper level team member can help you out.

If you are able to get these, open them with infraview, save them from there as PNG files, then open them with your preferred graphics app. and mod away...I use Paint.NET. Oh, and save them back as DDS files. You'll need some plug ins to accomplish all this...all the apps and plug ins are available and free online.

Thanks for the information. I did find the graphics but I don't know if I can do what I want. I was hoping to add additional portraits without any graphics modification. I have a couple of OB's with some lesser known figures in the greater scheme of the war and they are not represented in the graghic files. You gave me a good starting point and I appreciate it. By the way I really like your Bugles and Flags mods.
