I want my Fishing Sim... Could this be the one?

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Okay, I just came across a simulator called "Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm".

Haaaa, right now I'm actually smiling wondering how B. will take this one, I can only imagine what he'll say.

Not picking on you B. :P

Here is a review of the game guys, it's for the Xbox, but I'm sure it will be similar to the PC version... Hold on for the ride of your life because it also has a career mode!!!

Nothing like a lot pressure, Mike

From what I can tell they've managed to take the best part of DC away which is watching the exhausting 40 hours straight of hauling in crab in horrible weather. I think they should have a real-time feature so you sit at your computer for two days straight, chain smoking cigarettes.

I used to play a game by Microsoft called "Space Simulator" which you could play in real-time which meant if you wanted to go to Jupiter you'd have to sit in front of you computer for 3 years, or whatever it takes.

Hi B. No pressure. Just wanted to see what you had to say about it, and I agree. Even though I am a sucker for sims, this is one I will definitely be passing on. I was looking for good fishing sim out there but haven't been able to come across one that hit's the right spot.

Oh yeah Microsofts Space Sim. You nailed it on the head, good way of explaining the excitement factor of this crab fishing sim.

Thanks B. :)

Well I downloaded the demo because for me to go by what I see in the video can't really tell what the game is all about until I give it a small test drive.

Graphics: 3.5 out of 10.
Gameplay: 6.0 out of 10.
Replayability: 5.5 out of 10.
Video Quality: 3 out of 10.
Hints during Gameplay (video): 6 out of 10.
Control Difficulty: 2 out of 10.
Price: 1 out of 10. Too expensive.

You can grab the demo from here: http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/deadl ... storm.html

To Purchase: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/deadliest-catc ... 554p1.html

Note: For a game of this sort, and at the price they are asking (Digital Download at $40.00) I would say wait on purchasing, or look for a cheaper copy.

For me, not too sure at the moment.

:)

I saw posts from a guy on the Silent Hunter forums playing one of the campaigns ( I think it was SH4) in real time. So when he crossed the pacific, he really crossed the pacific!

I do that now with Orbiter. But at least Orbiter was free. :)

There was some excitement with Space Simulator. After sitting in front of your computer for a year and a half you had to start reverse thrust in order to slow down enough to not fly by Jupiter. No brakes on that spacecraft.

HAAAAaaaa, ladies covered in chocolate? Haaaaa, man that's funny.

Yes I don't go outside, I play sims buy the bushel. One moment I'll take on building an Empire, next I'm transported to a world where Wizards, and Ogres reign, then I soon find myself picking up a AK47, and helping out the rebels over throw their oppressors, then I start battling it outt climbing to the top of my Sims sundae, and try to conquer the the red cherry as I fight for the Union or Confederacy trying to bring love, and harmony to the United States of America... and when I finally succeed without blowing myself up... I take time off by visiting my favorite fishing hole, lay back, have some chips, bear, and read a book...

And that is all in the first 20 seconds of me waking up.
