Printing Maps

Post by Ingles of the 57th »

Picking up from a previous thread.

Is it possible, from the map graphic files available, to reconstruct and display the maps outside the game and subsequently print them ? I'm not suggesting modification.

I have PHOTOSHOP and GIMP but haven't used them for years.

You can always print the minimaps. If you go to your Base\Maps folder, you will find a bunch of files that end in MM.dds. You can open the DDS files with most graphics programs and then copy paste the map into a new graphics file (since you will notice the empty border on the right/bottom). Keep in mind, the 5 mile maps will still be hard to read when printing since it's such a large area and the resolution is pretty low. We have it in the system to address this issue in the future, but for now MTG has his mod and Adukes has his Map Screens Mod.

Thanks Little Powell. I will do some experiments. I thought you had to merge the .bmp and the .dds files somehow i.e. a base and an overlay.
