I've never heard of this situation before. Last night I played an MP game and everything went fine. Afterwards I played SP Sandbox--no problems. But when I started another SP Sandbox the game crashed: "Scourge of War - Gettysburg has stopped working." Then it crashed again and again and again whenever I tried a Sandbox game.
So I tried playing a SP Gettysburg Scenario and it played just fine. Then I tried a SP game from "Additional Battles," and again no problems. But I tried SP Sandbox again several times and it still crashed just as soon as I clicked on "Sandbox." Again today, same thing, over and over.
The only other problem: When I click on "User Scenarios" the whole screen freezes.
So it's a mystery to me why I can play the other battles but not Sandbox. Never seen it before or read about it here.
Do I need to reinstall the game?

I think that a lot of players are too quick in un-installing and re-installing the game for a few minor reasons.
First, you are running the latest patches correct?
Have you tried disabling all of the mods?
Are you running any mods?
Does the same thing happen if you restart your Computer?
How much memory are you running the game with?
In your SOWGB \ Work – folder – you will see a file called SOWGB.text document – that should list the problem as to why the game is crashing.

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!
Re: Strange Game Crash
Mine crashes when I click sandbox, due to something I modded, I assume. I haven't bothered yet to figure out what exactly. Nothing relevant in the log. If I need to do sandbox I can reinstall.

Re: Strange Game Crash
Davinci, thanks for the heads up about the mods. I have been running the same mods with no problems, but I went back and deleted them all---and the SP Sandbox worked. Then I started to activate each one separately to try and find which one was crashing the game. Strangely enough, I activated all the mods I had running previously and everything worked.
But then, I don't have to understand what happened...just glad all is ok.

cliometrician I'm glad to hear that you are back up and running the game. But then, I don't have to understand what happened...just glad all is ok.
It may have been the order in which the mods were activated, I'm not exactly sure but I think that the ones at the top have precedence over the ones at the bottom of the order.
One of the team-members can verify that.

Re: Strange Game Crash
That is also my experience. I also think it lists them in the order they were installed as an additional note if that helps. It may have been the order in which the mods were activated, I'm not exactly sure but I think that the ones at the top have precedence over the ones at the bottom of the order.
Re: Strange Game Crash
Yes, that is why there is the ability to change the order. So that you can define the precedence.
