Countermanding Courier Orders

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

If you are sending a courier message to a brigade commander, and the brigade commander is sending orders to all of the regiments, that would mean that the brigade commander is TC .

If this is the case, the brigade commander will not execute a change of orders.

When, I'm doing this, the brigade commander does not send additional orders to the regiments, nor is he TC'ed.

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!

Davinci:
I played this latest example 'from the box' and didn't TC anyone. Edit: just gone and played the same scenario again, this time with no mods enabled, and did exactly the same. Also checked that Ferrero was not TC'd. He wasn't.

Do you have couriers set to Brigade and above? At this setting, Brigade commanders always send couriers to regiments unless they're within shouting distance.

Yep - at 'brigade' level, couriers go out to all units in a brigade.

Ok guys, hold off on this one, I'll be back when I have some news.

Thanks con20or.

For the moment, I'll use 'Point and Click' for couriers as I had been doing recently. It was just curiosity that led me to discover that my game was behaving as MTG had described.

If you want to see it in action, give me a shout and I can host in MP.

Ok, so far the three from the team who have tried this have had no problems countermanding their orders, and everything is working fine.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that some of you need a complete reinstall. Something went wrong for you guys with a MOD, or during the Antietam install, or the 1.4 patch, or the beta - probably a confilict with a MOD already installed and its making your courier system act funny.

Sorry thats not much help, but I think it's probably system specific. As you can see from my sreenshots everything is working as it should be.

Edit - LP reccomended trying a different OOB as well, some of the new OOB's dont have Corps or Army commanders, and that can cause courier issues.

Assuming you downloaded it like me, after you uninstall, just redownload the .exe from the website, and use the activation codes from your original email.

If you bought the cd version, just uninstall and then after enter the cd. It should autorun. Youll have to provide a code again in this case.

Edit - Make sure you have no mods activated until you have verything installed!
