Perhaps once. But I resent the order and the unit began to move. I've been on the lookout for this, but haven't seen another instance. I've been almost exclusively playing as a corps commander so I don't issue too many orders. It seems to mostly affect AMD cpus. Mine is an Intel. It must be some sort of round off problem. I don't understand that since dates are stored as long integers. Maybe a conversion from long to int is buried somewhere in the code. It's something Norb will have to hunt down. But without a saved game it will be tough for him to do.You didnt encounter it MTG on your PC did you?

Re: Trouble with messages by courier again....
Reporting back. Ran home for lunch so I had some 45 minutes to try these things. It works. Started a new sandbox game as Hood...composed an order to Anderson and the first thing I did was advance the time of execution. At the end of the order I went back and changed the execution time back. When the courier reached Anderson he immediately sent out messengers to his regiments. (One odd thing. My order contained the phrase that the unit face South after the move...when the courier reached Anderson all of his regiments immediately shifted to facing South....once the messenger from Anderson reached each of the regiments they formed up in column and headed out.) After that all composed orders work fine with the same facing behavior as mentioned above.
I started the Jackson scenario in the original Gettysburg game and orders worked fine (with the same facing behavior) without advancing and reverting the time of execution. Really srtange...right?

Glad to hear the fix works and you can continue using couriers. It's a very strange problem. The 'rotating immediately' issue is a bug that popped up before the 1.4 patch. It is the only order that is carried out without the need of a courier.

Is there a patch in the works that addresses any of these bugs?Glad to hear the fix works and you can continue using couriers. It's a very strange problem. Glad it's working for you now gbs.
We need some more info on this one before we can fix it, preferably a saved game. If either of you come across someone experiencing the same problem, will you tell them to take a saved game before they fix it and then send it in to us?
As for the change facing fix, MTG spotted that one a while ago and reported it, I have it logged

4 of our kriegsspiel MP gaming buddies have all experienced the courier issue. In each case we have applied MTG's workaround and it has cleared the problem.
Unfortunately, we all applied the fix before seeing con200r's request, so no saved games. I can confirm it's the patch, rather than Anitietam however, as on of the players has not yet bought Antietam, and still had the problem.

Re: Trouble with messages by courier again....
I had seen a thread where someone had mentioned that after a system restore, the courier system broke. Several weeks later I had to do a restore and sure enough...it broke. If I ordered a unit to do something by clicking on the commander....it would, and it would send couriers out to sub units. I just couldn't get anyone to move using the text based courier system. You know, where you pick the language " move to this point, change to this formation. Hold." The courier would go but no one would move. I reinstallend and it worked again.I've an Intel and i never met it...
