Sound and Music not playing
Sound and Music not playing
Just reinstalled SOW after my old PC crashed.
My new machine has Windows 7 and the first time I played I had sound effects and music.
Since then I have had no music or sound effects in both SP and MP.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Willard

Re: Sound and Music not playing
So you were playing it fine, and then you started it up and no sound?

LP -
My previous PC with WinXP crashed and burned. I ended up getting a new pc with Win7 pre-loaded. After NSD helped recover my activation code, I loaded up SOW and was able to play multiple times with no problem.
A couple of days ago I played a GCM MP game and the sound didn't turn on. I thought at the time that I may have accidentally disabled the sound via the GCM launcher or through TS. However when I loaded up an SP game, I had the same problem.
I went ahead and deactivated the game and uninstalled. I followed that up by updating my sound card driver and then reinstalled SOW. Everything has been fine since late last night. Played both MP and SP games without an issue and confirmed again today.
The only thing I can think of is that the something happened with the sound driver. The PC is new and I assumed the driver was updated but after checking the RealTek sight that wasn't the case. I now have the most recent driver and all is well.
On a totally unrelated note, I am finding it extremely difficult to get CWBR and TC2M loaded on Win7. I am checking the TC website for guidance but no luck. If you guys have any suggestions it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Willard

Willard, try running them in Admin mode, right click on the start button and select admin mode.

I had the same problem but installed CMP 4.0 and then it worked. I'm not real familiar with TC2M so I can't say for sure. I'm going to reinstall them and see if I have the same problems. I'll let you know. In the meantime someone is bound to give you a better answer. On a totally unrelated note, I am finding it extremely difficult to get CWBR and TC2M loaded on Win7. Davinci's guidance was to delete the movies folder. I renamed them instead and it worked like a charm.

Haven't had a problem since.

Additionally, after doing that I did not need to run as admin or in WinXP comp mode. Not sure why but I guess it depends on the machine.
