Realistic smoke mod
Re: Realistic smoke mod
Great mod. It runs well no real chamge in FPS, but I got to tell you; that is a lot of smoke.

Lol, well I said it may be a little overkill;). The point with it is to add to battle confusion, mainly for behind the saddle view. I honestly have no idea how much smoke was really at these battles... just read that it was literally impossible to even see your enemy sometimes. That often soldiers on the same side would end up shooting each other, or would finally stop firing only to realize the other troops retreated a long time ago. That's what I'm going after with the mod.Great mod. It runs well no real chamge in FPS, but I got to tell you; that is a lot of smoke.

I think you are there. I can see where the smoke would create some confusion and uncertainty. I plan on playing a few battles with your mod, should make for an interesting dynamic. Just for your info, I am playining this with pretty much all the standard mods enabled. I think I have pretty much everthing to include: mp 200 yard tool bar, Pipe Creek SR10, all the Historical and add on senario mods, bood mod, and the list goes on... Seems to run fine.

Am running it now. Good Job!
Just to give you an idea of how cool this is - I was at the re-enactment of '64 Wilderness/Spotsylvania CourtHouse. During the 1st. Days fighting, we really were in part of the Wilderness fighting (private land, of course, but still the Wilderness.) Terrible terrain for formed battle lines. Once we finally found the enemy, (we were Rebs), it was a tangled mess. Within seconds of opening fire, all you could really see were rifle flashes, shoes, and smokey BattleFlags. No breeze in there at all to clear even a little smoke. Disorganization was complete. My CO sent me to find out where anyone else was down the line. In some places men were firing 6-7 deep, in others there was literally no-one there. The smoke was so thick no-one could tell who or what was where. So, again, good job on this mod.

This is a very nice mod. Coupled with commanding on horseback, it will be quite a challenge. I wonder if the "vision" of the AI is equally affected?
