Screen Resolution Error?
After playing a game that crashed to the point I had to hard-boot my computer, the resolution of the game no longer occupies the entire screen, with some wasted black space on both sides. I'm not exactly computer-savvy, so I don't know if this is a resolution error with my computer settings or the game itself. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Re: Screen Resolution Error?
Could be either a setting in game or your monitor. The game resolution is in options, make sure it matches what your monitor is. If there was a problem with your graphics driver, which might have caused the crash - sometimes it defaults back to a low monitor resolution - like 800x600. Most monitors should be alot higher than that.
Do you know how to change your monitor resolution? Mine is a widescreen, so its to 1680x1050, alot of widescreens are similar.
Once you have your monitor at the right setting, just select the game resolution in the options menu and you should be back on track.
Theres a few other things we can try, but start with those.
Edit - make sure you have 'full screen' ticked in the options, its above the resolution setting.

Re: Screen Resolution Error?
The default resolution on the computer is 1600x900, but when I match that in-game, it makes the screen ridiculously tiny. The game resolution appears at its largest at 1024x768, which is the smallest resolution the game allows.Could be either a setting in game or your monitor. Re: Screen Resolution Error?
Indeed I do. It just fills the rest of the screen with empty, black space.
Re: Screen Resolution Error?
Try a different monitor resolution, like 1680 x 1050 (unless you're sure that you have always been using 1600x900) and see if that works. Otherwise, maybe your graphics driver got corrupted when your game crashed and you might need to reinstall it.
or there could be some simpler solution that i not hinking of, so maybe hang on for someone else.

Yeah what con20or said.
Choosing high resolutions will give you that black boarder on the game screens. I have my set to the highest (1920X1080) and I get the black boarder.

I would have no idea what I'm doing if that's what you mean.con20or wrote:
