new toshiba dx1215 all in one computer
Help! I just got a new Toshiba dx1215 all in one computer. The screen is 21.5 in and has a beautiful picture. It has plenty of processor speed 2.3 gig and enough ram and hard drive as given in the specs. The only thing I'm unsure about is the video card/shared memory thing. When I try and run the demo, all I get is a black screen with a little block in the upper left corner, the musket cursor (which I can move around), and the music.... nothing else on the screen. Anyone have an idea what I should do to be able to play the game? I would gladly buy it, if I can get it to work. This is frustrating because you can't get any newer of a computer. It just came out. Thanks for all help.

Sorry to hear the games not working for you. Don't know about your particular computer but I know with my laptop, video is often an issue because of the chipset when trying to play some games. And I try a lot of games. It was just never designed for gaming. The only thing I'm unsure about is the video card/shared memory thing. Maybe it doesn't like your computer's resolution.. Even though the game supports several resolutions, but it's just something to try... Try changing your computer's resolution and see if that changes anything.Help! I just got a new Toshiba dx1215 all in one computer. The screen is 21.5 in and has a beautiful picture. Hi.
Make sure you have the latest video drivers for your onboard Video. I'm definitely not going into the bios, and talk about aperture settings, and mem...
That is for another time.
I would say for you to go into your SOWgb.ini, and set the video to window mode first to see if that will fix your problem or not. I have noticed that some onboard video cards work better for some games in window mode (I have no idea why).
in The SOWgb.ini look for...
Full Screen=1 turn 1 into a 0 (eg. Full Screen=0)
Save the file, run the game.
Later.

You can run the dxdiag.exe program which will tell you exactly what you have for video. It is installed with windows so you already have it on your system. Save the results in a text file and attach the file to a reply in this thread.
