Hey, this is just another place to voice comments about the new SDK.

This is not about complaining about amending the new files \ mainly comments and questions.

Is anybody else having problems with moving the units with the courier system?

I replaced the older courier.csv file with the newer one, but only the Commander moves, not the units, has the procedure been changed?

Also – this could be on my end, but I thought that I had this part of the game down packed!

Aaaaaaaggggghhhhh!!!! Not again! Please not the Courier system again!

Sorry D. It's a slow night on the board. I'm sure that's a legitimate question. ;)

LOL : I’m trying to keep a low-profile – don’t dare wake up Little Powell.

Hey, born – if you don’t mind – switch the previous courier file with the newer one, and see if you can move the units!

The only way that I can move them is to use the previous ( older ) courier file.

I need some more info. I only have one courier.csv file with a modification date of 4-05-2011. Also how are you using it?

Well, I can't check the date on mine, I seem to have written over the newest one, my mistake!

Info - load the newest one, and then try to move a brigade to another location, and see if only the brigade leader moves, or the entire brigade.

EDIT Post! - yes that is the latest one date of 04/05/2011 - I had to reinstalled the SDK.

Thanks,

OK. They both work for me. Here is what I did.

Created a mod called Courier Mod with just a Logistics folder in which I placed the courier.csv file.

Enabled this mod and created a Sandbox game: Div v Div.

Had Rodes send a courier to Daniel telling him to move.

The menu is different for the old and new Courier messages but I ordered them to move to a map location. As soon as the courier arrived, everybody started moving.

Hope that helps. Let me know if I do anything else. It's early and I have a reputation to uphold now as the man who never sleeps. ;)

Thanks, but can you verify that the regiments continued to move with the Brigade leader, or did they just change the formation that they were in.

My situation is as follows – Brigade Leader receives courier message – starts moving to the location – Regiments move a short distance changing formation – then stops - Leader continues alone.

Here is what I noticed. With the old Courier screen there are a Move to...and a Move Unit to... command.

With the new one there is only a Move to... command.

With the Move to... command in the new Courier message only the commander moves if I select Move to a Map Location. The Move Unit to a Map Location is gone. If I select Move Unit 300 yards it works. Units move along with the commander.

I've yet to see what you describe. Give me specifics and I'll recreate exactly what you have and test it.

born – Thanks, for the time that you took to investigate this, I think that the problem is that I’m still using my old drills file, and this is interfering with the courier file.

I’m in the process of adding all of my custom formations in the newer drills file, to see if this works.

You are using only the courier file, while using the newer internal drills file, so this may be why we are seeing two different things.

Status…Pending…..!

My pleasure. Anytime I can help let me know. Tracking this stuff down is fun as well as informative. because of this I'm going to start another thread about the Move Unit... command.
