Ive tried to see if anyone has seent his one so if its been posted, sorry for the double post. I got the game a few days ago and havent seen any issues before last night. I was playing the Union scenario where I was attempting to hold onto Culp's Hill. As I was trying to rearrange my units to stop the a massive confederate breakthrough, I ran into this issue. When my unit was moving I clicked on the halt icon. Instead of stopping the ico showing where they would end up moved farther ahead. So I tried again and got the same result. As I tried to move other units, the same thing happened. When I selected halt short of where they were heading, the destination icon would move further ahead.
This was the first time I had encountered this in about 5 or 6 games I hvae played. I dont have a save game or anything as I admit, I rage quit when this happened. It was wrong to do it that way I know. I will attempt to see if this happens again but wanted to see if anyone else have seen it.
I am having a lot fo fun with the game thought as I am a diehard gettysburg fan.

In my limited experience whether or not a unit halts depends a lot on what it's doing and whether or not you've Taken Control of the unit or it's under control of the AI. I just did a quick test and if your units (in this case regiments) are TC'd they ignore the halt order given to the brigade commander. This is as it should be as they are under your control not his.
If you could recreate it and be more specific as to the condition of the units you're trying to halt that would be helpful.

It's a good thing you said that or we wouldn't help you. Just kidding!I am having a lot of fun with the game thought as I am a diehard gettysburg fan.

Re: Clicking the halt button
You were probably trying to halt the units in a spots they didn't like. Units will keep walking if they are trying to get out the line of fire of another unit, or other reasons like terrain etc. It has to do with the pathing. For instance if you're moving a regiment forward into a spot that he doesn't want to go to, the destination arrow will keep moving forward every time you hit the halt button.Ive tried to see if anyone has seent his one so if its been posted, sorry for the double post. Re: Clicking the halt button
Ok well I just ran the scenario again. I have to be the worst commander because I did much worse this time around. My whole brigade with the exception of one regiemnt broe at least once. I am soooooo glad I wasnt on the field back in 1863...WHEW
Anyway I was able to recreate this again. Basically my regiemnts were pushed back from the breastworks but still had control of Culps hill. The regiemnt in question had broken once before and had reformed. I wanted to give them more time to rest but was in dire straits so I ordered them back into line. At the time I ordered them back, the morale was okay and they were winded. I realized that by time they got to where I had sent them, the Confederate regiments would be to close so I hit the halt command. here is where it happened again. Not only did the icon move, it moved forward TOWARD the confederates.
Now I can see why if they didnt like where they were going that they wouldnt go but to go forward instead of back?? I had the regiment under my control, I believe to be hoenst it was hectic at this point, and I do not believe they were under fire. If they were it was of the mid to long range type as the nearest confederate unit was not facing them at the time.
After several attempts to getting them stopped, they finally broke and ran again. This time I left this go as I knew they wouldnt be of much help. I had made a save but it didnt save it for some reason so I will have to try it again later. Im too stressed out and dont want to lsoe for the NOrth again.
Dont know if this helps or not but this is where Im at so far, thanks for the replies. I do appreciate the help
