I haven't found an explanation in the GCM wiki for some of the hosting options.
Scenarios: Random, Kester-Test, Wheatfield, ... What are they about?
In Custom Objectives:
- Order of Battle. Random Division means completely random units, no record of casualities? From Campaign takes your own units and does record casualitites?
According to the GCM rules: To "achieve" an objective, one must hold it for one minute during the last ten minutes of the game.
But in the Custom objectives you can't set it up like that. The shortest Holding time is 10 minutes (not 1 minute) and it is possible to achieve an objective before the 10 last minutes start.
I played some games with custom objectives. But they don't count as "engagements" for my profile. Why is that?
Thanks

I don't know, but I'd leave Kester-test alone. You don't (want to) know where it's been.

Random divisions are created for that battle and do not affect your standard carryover divisions. You can and should report the battles. The statistics will only show up on the battle report. Basically, it's a way to use the GCM without the carryover aspect. As well, you can manipulate the size of each player's division in a random battle.

Random Objectives: we rarely play with this setting anymore: objectives are active for the last 10 minutes of the game and are won by holding for one minute. We found that the games were basically degrading to last 10 minute charges to turn objectives. Custom objectives are what we use now: 250 yard radius, 25 minute hold time. You can set the points they are worth too, but we declare the victor to be the side which captures the majority of the objectives.
Kester-Test, Wheatfield are examples of a feature no one uses, a way to make custom battles and set objectives where you want them on the map. I've never tried to make a game like that, so I'm not sure how it works.

Garnier wrote that rule based on the random objective setting.

Were you using random divisions? And were you playing with at least one other player?

On the top right, you can see that your union division has had 3 battles: 3087, 3133, 3087.

And your confederate division has been in 4 battles: 3177, 3114, 3089, 3084.

I played those games with the Campaign OOB and with at least one other player. When looking at my confederate division in the last column there are 0 engagements and at the bottom is
Killed 0
Currently Wounded 0
Missing 0
Casualties Inflicted 0

I see that, Leffe. No doubt something is amiss. I'll send Garnier an email and ask him to look at it.

Leffe,
Garnier says two player games don't affect carryover. The stats only show up in the battle report.
