Re: Can the color of the sky be changed?
Hi.
Jack, I was playing the the Mac map with the latest Fog Edits, and I noticed something peculiar. I noticed my Frame Rates were suffering for some reason, so I took the liberty to write a couple of my findings...
----------------
Battle: Division vs Division
Type: Line of Sight
OOB: OOB_SB_Brig_Div_Day2
----------------
Graphic Settings
----------------
Uniform: High
Terrain: High
Map Objects: Best
----------------
Fog Edit Setting
----------------
SkyPlaneHeight=100 => 5-11 FPS
SkyPlaneHeight=200 => 8-15 FPS
SkyPlaneHeight=500 => 11-24 FPS
SkyPlaneHeight=800 => 12-23 FPS
SkyPlaneHeight=1000 => 15-30 FPS
-----------------
Without the Fog Map Edit Active: 15-32 FPS.
Later!

Mike,
Quick research on the maps has revealed no real difference in visual effect regarding the SkyPlane setting of 1000 vs. 200. Please feel free to go ahead and change the Fog Mod SkyPlane setting to 1000. That should help the lower end comps use it more effectively regarding the FPS rate. Good catch!

I do remember changing that value, but I would have thought that the opposite would apply, the closer the sky setting, the less space that the game would try to draw.....Fog Edit Setting
----------------
SkyPlaneHeight=100 => 5-11 FPS
SkyPlaneHeight=200 => 8-15 FPS
SkyPlaneHeight=500 => 11-24 FPS
SkyPlaneHeight=800 => 12-23 FPS

-----------------
Well, my Bad!
I have found that testing this game is sort of hard pertaining to the FPS, if the units are marching, or if they are fighting - the test results will be completely different.

I took the fps readings before the battle was in full swing.
Anyway, Cheers.

I have no idea what it all means anyway. You could have wrote "the niche is in the brown, and the color blue isn't blue until it hits 25, and the cube squared in no more than 1 in itself", and I would believe you. :ohmy:
Oh well. Hey, if I catch anything else I will ponder on posting it.

Cheerio.
Re: Can the color of the sky be changed?
Yes, but that was sort of what I'm trying to explain.I took the fps readings before the battle was in full swing.
I get better FPS - in battle, than I do if the units are marching to the battle.
But, I think that a lot of this will also greatly depend on the Computer System that everyone is running. And I doubt that almost no-one is running the same type of configuration.

Hmmm, that is interesting. I wonder why that is then...I understand that each system is unique in it's setup. I think more testing is in order then.Yes, but that was sort of what I'm trying to explain.
