On a totally bizzare note...

Post by Jack ONeill »

All,

Just finished installing the new numbers to change the sky to gray on the Day 1 "Mac Map. (Massive hat-tip to DaVinci for supplying them). This is in conjunction with the Fog Mod. Massive difference. However, I decided to take a map stroll around the map and in Gettysburg. Has anyone else ever done this? I run all the sounds so it was really cool. A lot of this stuff gets left behind with the sounds of war so prominant. As I kind of strolled thru town I heard Church bells, which I had heard before. BUT, I also heard Dogs barking. WOW! When I crossed a stream on a bridge, I heard water running underneath, babbling brook-type stuff. Outstanding! How long have I had this game?
Great Job Norb/Team!
This may not be super fabulous to some, but it shows the level of dedication to getting it right these fine lads have shown.

P.S. - Mikesla, you might want to include these numbers in the Fog Mod. I'll do up a set (someday, when I have 20-30 secinds to my self), for all the maps, test them and shoot them off to you.

I'm new to the game but I've noticed those little touches of detail myself. Nice...

It's these "little things" of reality detail that make both SOW and TC2M the best games out there IMO. For TC2M, there are MAP MODS now that feature croaking frogs and church organ music..... cows mooing, horses "snorting" in barns. OH! and chickens too!
Really wonderful real life sounds of the era. :)

I am waiting for your message. :) Yep, as soon as you get them edited, I'll place them into the FOG Mod, and Scenario edit. Oh I have replied to your PM.

Yeah Davinci is smart, and quite the character. I laughed my arse off when he replied with the new numbers.

Excellent Work Jack and Davinci!!!

Cheerio my good man!
