Controls2 - Fonts - Courier

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Hey, I may have tried to remove \ clean-up too much of the image, so I may have to redo the entire image, and that is sort of depressing.

Everytime a DDS file is re-opened it will sort of blur and lose a little bit of it's detail.

So, the next time I do it, I'm going to do the whole file at one time, this will eliminate losing some of the detail.

This will be the Old_Courier_Message_V1, this way you can view it, experiment with it, and post any comments, or suggestions.

Thanks, to born2see, and Amish John - for continuing this topic, and pointing me in another direction.

EDIT POST - This is now Old_Courier_Message_V2

Fixed the problem with the screen resolution - (736x736) on a (1024x1024) - Thanks - born2see - I can't remember that resolution for some reason.

This is really good!

I adjusted the height for my screen but the Scroll Bars and Close Box need to be adjusted and it crops the lower fold. I'll try to fix those things and post the gscreens file and dds file if I can get it to work. Otherwise I'll have to toss it back to you.

Again, this is fantastic!

Still too big for me. The gscreens file looks OK. Maybe the letter image itself?

Looks like some of the letters don't fit into the available space for that particular letter and are getting cut off.

So, do you want me to take it down to (704x704) which is the next step from the (736x736)?

Try that if you don't mind. I don't understand why that image is too big but the others were fine.

born2see - OK, I dropped it down to (704x704) on a (1024x1024) background.

I had to reduce the font from (0.92) to (0.90) - but you know how this works, so you can adjust to your computer specs.

So close...

The whole message needs to be moved up slightly. As you can see there is room at the top of the screen. Tried changing the gscreens file but no luck. This is with Lines 3 and 11 Columns G and H respectively set to 0.

born2see - I think that we are going about this from the wrong angle, instead of reducing the image, maybe we should have been sllightly increasing it.

While the courier message is displayed, none of the toolbar buttons function, not even moving the camera works.

I going to redo that mod, probably on the weekend, taking what I did wrong into consideration.

I'll also place the message at the very top of the image, so that should eliminate the problem that you are having.

The real question is why does that resolution not work, when a larger resolution worked, would it have something to do with the width of the image?

Hey, can you still use the three buttons on the courier message?
