ENBSeries (adding bloom effects where there is none). Screen Shots included.
Hi.
I'm poking around with something that's been out for a very long time called ENBSeries which adds bloom effects to games which normally do not support it. I use it to play Freelancer from time to time, and it works fine for that game.
I'll let you folks know more if I ever get it to work correctly, and I'll post some screen shots later on.
Bye.

Hi.
Here are two screenshots. A Before shot (ENBSeries Disabled), and a After Shot (ENBSeries Enabled)
Now I have noticed an accelerated fps boost for some reason, but that could be just me though. Of course you have to do some tweaking with the ENBSeries ini settings to get this to work properly.

I'm still experimenting with the settings to see what I can get out of this program. I'm pretty sure that settings can be adjusted that would work with the toolbar, and other aspects of the game as well.
I use this program for Freelancer, and at first the misgivings you are having is pretty much what I was experiencing in Freelancer, but after doing some tweaking it worked out great, and so I'm hoping it will turn out being that way with SOWgb...I'll keep trying, you never know.
Cheers...

I really like the effect! I'm not really bothered at all about the toolbar - going by the pic I can certainly live with that, a small price to pay for a rendered bloom effect.
Gonna take a looksee - good catch Mikesla!

The software has been out for awhile now (it's actually run through .dlls). It's not bad, and it takes you to get the settings right to work with your video card (list of settings I posted above).
Cheers...

Hmm - crashes at the main screen with all the UI interface gone!

Hi.
Okay, first make sure that you download these two .dll's first.
STEP 1
1. d3dx9_26.dll
2. d3dx9_40.dll
STEP 2
1. unzip these dll's into your Scourge of War - Gettysburg directory.
STEP 3
1. Download this file TES Oblivion v0.075a (this is pretty much a bare bones version, and you have to edit it to work with your card)
2. Unzip this file into your Scourge of War Gettysburg directory.
STEP 4
1. open the file called "enbseries.ini"
STEP 5
1. Scroll down to where it says "[MOTIONBLUR]"
Example:
[MOTIONBLUR]
MotionBlurQuality=1
MotionBlurVelocity=0
MotionBlurRotation=200
STEP 5
1. Change all the values to equals 0
Example:
[MOTIONBLUR]
MotionBlurQuality=0
MotionBlurVelocity=0
MotionBlurRotation=0
This fixes an error where the screen messes up when moving forward, backward, and up/down.
STEP 6
1. Start Scourge of War - Gettysburg
2. Start a game.
STEP 7
1. while in the game press SHIFT F12 to activate the ENBseries mod.
The oblivion download is actually pretty bare bones settings which requires you to tweak because not all video cards are the same.
Note: It is important that you turn off the motion blur.
Cheers, and I hope this helps you.

Yep, works now and I love it!
I guess I used the wrong version, there were so many I just stuck a pin in and picked one !
It also seems to define the hill/gradients better too, making it easier to make them out.
Thanks, seems a real gem so far.

Oh right on, good to hear that it's working. Your right it does seem to improve the hill/gradients.
The issue that a few people have is that it takes light colors, and turns them almost pure white. I know that there are settings in the .ini which can be edited that will tone that down a bit. Also there are settings that are for nighttime as well which could add some cool effects (not too sure but that is how I am taking it from what I have read)
I know with the right settings this could be something really cool to have running. If you do happen to get a good mix for your settings, could you post them please? I'm always interested in what other people can come up with.
Cheers, and take care Sir!
