All of this begs the question: Why does the game use pft files and how are they created/converted? Maybe someone who is privy to that info could enlighten us.
Well, I’m not one that is in-the-know about this, but my un-official guess would be this.
The
Power Render Program or the
Games Engine – was written by another person that made this product to sell to small game designers.
Norb just happened to be one of those guys that were looking for this type of
Engine to
program his game into. Years ago
he mentioned several other engines but by-passed on them for one reason or another.
Norb is just a
one-man-team when it comes down to the actual programming, so if using another
engine that was already built probably saved him years of programming.
Now, looking at the
PR6 Program and the associated files, that program was already installed (i.e…FontMaker) so
Norb probably just used that and moved on to other things that were more pressing.
It is quite remarkable that
one person did all of this programming, and the game turned out to be as good as it is. So if that is the case,
we should use what we can use , and by-pass what we can’t change.
But, from my searching on the Internet - it does not appear that we can change a
TTf file into a
PFT file, and if Google doesn’t have an answer than there is probably not one out there.
Answer – to your question – I do not see where the
PFT files are located in the
FontMaker program – so they must be
embedded within the program.
