Adding Trees...

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Jack does either one of these appeal to you, or are you happy with the one that was in the download?

This is like the fifth, sixth, and the seventh draft of the jump map!

They sort of remind me of a golf course, but it does let you know where the trees are located on the map.

D,

The upper left map. Just shows where things are. Nothing else needed.

OK, I figured out another way of doing it, without the golf course look, I think it blends in better.

The Picture is above your post!

KS_MM - file only!

You know the drill - Place in your Mods \ Kansas Map1 \ Map - folder - it will over-write the previous one.
The attachment KS_MM.rar is no longer available

D,

Damn! Have changed so much stuff around, I can't get either map to come up right. The one I edited nor the stuff you sent me. KS Map 1 folder has all the required information in it, but no show. Blast! Gonna have to go back and figure out which came first, then what order. Not fun.

D,

Okay......momentary annoyance has been averted. Got everything in the right order. Map comes up nicely. Will run test games on it and let you know whether or not I need to edit or not for FPS. Brilliant job!

Jack – I’m sort of confused, are you saying that the mod doesn’t work when activated?

I never did test the mod; I just placed all of the information into a mod folder !

Do you have any recommendations pertaining to doing it another way?

I can probably make about three or four of these KS Map Mods – by just changing around the terrain, and adding in a few roads, to change the strategy around a bit.

Concentrate on the trees first to get better FPS, they are quite huge, and you really don’t need that many clustered together.

D,

No, your stuff was fine. I crossed up all the changes, put them in the wrong order, etc. so much it just weirded out. Pulled everything out, started over and it works. Worry not, old friend, your work works fine.
