Col William Robinson
Re: Col William Robinson
As weird as it was, i think it could be fun to occasionally play as a colonel, commanding just one regiment. You'd be very reliant on the AI controlling the courier message system though. Maybe it could be one of the first tutorials! Get you used to controlling a regiment.

Were thinking of adding a few "entry level" scenarios for new players since the historic scenarios can be very challenging for a newbie. This may be a good idea for one..As weird as it was, i think it could be fun to occasionally play as a colonel, commanding just one regiment. So a colonel meaning you just control the regiment correct? No brigade commander above them?As weird as it was, i think it could be fun to occasionally play as a colonel, commanding just one regiment. Or would you want to play as the brigade commander, but only have control of one regiment?

Yep. Just the regiment, but some scripted (tutorial) or AI controlled (if a game option) general sending you commands.
1. Enemy approaching, form up on the left of the xx maine.
2. Advance, fall back, charge.
3. Lots of other orders to give, but not sure if courier system supports them.
Would be interesting in MP too!

If the orders are scripted and sent to the regiment, then your regiment will perform them. So basically your regiment would play the whole scenario while you sit back and watch.. Not very fun. :laugh:Yep. Just the regiment, but some scripted (tutorial) or AI controlled (if a game option) general sending you commands.

What we could do though is have the general send you courier messages telling you what to do. "Form in skirmish" "screen the enemy" etc. etc..
Re: Col William Robinson
good point! Courier messages sound great. I love receiving courier messages (except the ones that ive sent myself, after TC'ing someone!)
Re: Col William Robinson
Did the regiment command/missions make it in the patch? I had to return my new GPU, wont have it back until the end of the week so cant have a good luck unfortunately!!

Re: Col William Robinson
Actually it did not. I started on it but it just wasn't any fun only commanding a regiment.. I've thought about splitting the regiment into a company or two but we'll see.Did the regiment command/missions make it in the patch? I did however make a brigade size scenario pack with entry level scenarios. That should be released as a mod by the time the patch is made final.
Re: Col William Robinson
fair enough, dont rule it out entirely though! i think it could be very interesting, expecially in MP.
