Game crashes in Scenario Eight

Hi there --

I have been playing the game for some time, and I am on Scenario Eight. What I noticed is the following:

1. Once I start the scenario, the command buttons disappear after a while. This applies every unit in the
brigade including the commander. I am left with only the Orders/Dispatch buttons.

2. If I save at a certain point within the scenario in question, and then try to start at the saved
point, the entire game crashes. This does not occur if I start at the beginning of the scenario.

The game has been updated to the 1.103 patch. I have included the .rar file with this posting. If there are additional steps that I need to take, please let me know.

Thanks for the save game. I believe I've seen this same issue reported elsewhere. We'll look into it and get back to you.

This is the same thing as the Col Wm. Robinson thread. I posted there about my troubles with the Sedgwick scenario a week ago, tried again tonight, and the sme thing happens...after a few minutes you have no control and have to shut down. This is very frustrating as I've gotten all the way to this final scenario, and can't win the game! (Is this a diabolical plot to keep anyone from winning?!?) Help!

I've been unable to reproduce this problem with your save game. I never lose control of the troops, and if I save the game and re-load it, it does not crash.

I have a slightly different version of the game than you so I'm waiting to hear back to see if that could effect anything. I'm on top of this one.. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hi there --

I was able to complete Scenario Eight without saving a game, although it was nerve racking not being able to so, and thus be able to make second guesses. I am planning on going onto the next scenario, and I will try to save a game there to see if the problem continues to occur. I'll post my findings as part of this topic as they occur.

Has there been any progress as to what caused the problem to occur in the first place?

We will be looking at this for our next patch, but it's a big list on that patch. Since we are in the middle of working on the feature patch, we cannot go back and do a quick fix right now. So please be patient and thank you for answering all the questions. We'll work hard on recreating the issue and getting a fix in there.
