Game Freeze

Have had a problem with MP game freezing when I click the HUD OOB.

During multiple tests:

1. Two players in MP.
2. Room set up and game started as normal.
3. Clicked on CO and able to move him as normal.
4. Clicked on his units and they moved as normal.
5. Clicked on CO HUD and game froze.
6. Uninstalled game and reinstalled...problem still persists.
7. Other testers without my play able to play the game normally.

Suggestions appreciated.

Do you mean the OOB button on the toolbar? And the game froze, do you mean it just stops and crashes, or does it stop and get going again eventually? I've seen MP freeze for 1 or 2 minutes, and then start again.

Do you mean the OOB button on the toolbar? And the game froze, do you mean it just stops and crashes, or does it stop and get going again eventually? I've seen MP freeze for 1 or 2 minutes, and then start again.

Yes, the OOB button in the CO HUD. Game froze and would not re-start. Exited and tried again, several times, but same problem kept occurring.

Hmm.. I remember that sort of thing happening in early testing, but that has been gone for a while.. If you said you re-installed, then the only other thing I can think of is a corrupt download of the game.

I know it's a pain, but I would try re-downloading the full installer. Make sure you use the MD5 checker to verify that the file isn't corrupted.

I uninstalled the game last night and reinstalled. Same problem

Uninstalled the game a few minutes ago, after deleting every other SOW file or zipping them I could find, and reinstalled version 1.102. Now just waiting for someone to test with.

Hopefully, Matt, that will do it.

Plays fine (I believe....never tried a whole game once the "freezes" started) but the first time I selected the OOB button last night, it was a custom OOB. After that, game froze, both on custom OOB and stock OOB. Then, after reinstalling last night, we selected a stock OOB and it worked. Next, went to the custom OOB, and froze. Went back to stock, and it froze.

Others were using both and experiencing no problem. Custom OOB was made by an experienced gamer who has been doing it since the game was released.

It may be that your section of the OOB has an error in it. I had a freeze like you mentioned in one of my custom OOBs that I had been using for a while. But I had never commanded those particular troops before. Once I fixed the unit numbering mistake I had made, everything worked fine.

Keeps getting worse. Now, I can't open the game without it CTD. Have no idea what is going on.

That sounds like a corrupt game file(s). It's odd that things get progressively worse. Maybe your AV is quarantining various files?
