What Version, What Patch is the Latest and where do I find the download?

I just bought the game, love the graghics, but I find troop control and army management very hard. I have read most threads and see that bugs still exist. Troops moving backwards for example. So let's start from the beginning.....What is current Version and Patch or whatever....

If you have downloaded the game recently, then it has the latest official patch. It helps to complete all of the tutorials to learn how to better control your troops. Then practice in sandbox. Start with brigade size, then move to division, etc. Then you're ready to tackle the challenging historic scenarios.
