Hi.

Are you folks having any thoughts on going toward using Steam?

if you do go the steam route,it might be usefull to know quite a few uk gamers have problems with steam because of poor internet connectivity which is out of their hands i.e,not because of whats in their machines but what their local exchanges can provide.i cant use steam because of where i live so if the game was on steam i wouldnt buy it nor would most of my mates because it would effectivly be unusable!
not steams fault i hasten to add,but our poor internets to blame.so worth bearing in mind.

This is true, poor connection is a problem with steam.

I do happen to have a real problem with steam after I had my account stolen for playing Halife Life 2, and Steam treated me like a thief. To tell you the truth I can't, and won't support any game which switches to steam. I don't forget or forgive valve for creating steam (valve created steam for the introduction of Half Life 2), I personally think that even though SOW has a DRM package in place which is low level (not like UBIsoft has opted for), but moving to steam would only create a much more intrusive DRM scheme which I cannot, and will not support.

So please Norb, don't go the way of steam, it's actually hurt the gaming industry more than most people would like to admit.

We will never put all our eggs in one basket. If we went Steam, it would just be another place to get the game.

cheers norb, thats very reassuring for all of us that cant use steam.
it effectivly banishes us from playing a game and all customers like me have ever asked is a steam free option for buying the game.and,as your wise enough to actually give us that choice you deserve all our support and custom.so i will definatly buy this game,as soon as ive saved my pennys!
