Hi, I just recieved an email from Ingles, and he still can't gain access to your website. I'll post his email below because he asked me to relay the message.

Hi,

Just to report that my efforts to discover why I am being excluded from
norbsoftdev.com have not yet produced any results. I am still trying.

Please convey to Norb my continued regret at not being able participate in
and contribute to the forum.

We've switched the entire site. I don't know what more we can do. We've been through everything on our end and although it makes sense that in the past he would have problems, now he should be fine.

Hi Friends,

A sudden flash of inspiration just now. Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner

I tried using my other computer which is dedicated to my music collection and is not normally connected to the internet.

Having first updated the virus protection, I plugged the LAN into my satellite router and, what do you know, I connected first time to norbsoftdev.com.

So my problem lies either within my other computer or else somewhere up the line driven by my computer id no.

I suspect my computer has somehow been hi-jacked, used as a conduit for spam and blacklisted somewhere up the line. None of my virus, malware software etc seems to have spotted it.

Nice to be back though

Now that's a different issue. What the heck could be the problem? I'm sure you've wiped the cache, and all the basics. Very odd, wish I knew more to help.

Great news Sir. Too bad about your main computer, hopefully you can get it back up to snuff without Reformatting...time gone and reinstalling apps...YUK. Maybe just a browser change, I'm partial to Mozilla Firefox, but each to their own. Again, Welcome Back, your input is most informative and entertaining. :)

Hi

Thanks for the welcomes-back. I was getting withdrawal symptoms.

Now my two computers sit in two quite different rooms, each with its own dedicated battery-backup power supply. So, all I need to do now is to find a damn great long piece of LAN cable to keep the second computer also permanently linked to the satellite router.

Not the easiest thing to find in an African rural area right up against the Mozambique border. Computer sundries shops are a bit thin on the ground. Nearest about 250 km away.

So for the time being it will have to be a computer-swapping-over-and-replugging exercise every time I want to get to the SOWG forum. After a few hours practice I have almost got the exercise up to the same level of speed as I used to be able to achieve with the stripping and reassembly of the various infantry weapons of the late 1950's. I can now even plug up a computer in the pitch dark, identifying the various cable-ends by feel.

A valuable attribute. With our power utility company here in Zimbabwe, pitch dark is a very common occurance.

Best regards
