Now You See Them - Now You Don’t- Now You Do

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Now You See Them - Now You Don’t- Now You Do

Post by J Canuck »

(Disclaimer: This is not an Old Spice commercial.)

The following is a phenomenon I have seen a few times in different scenarios. The screenshots are from GB06 Three Times is Not a Charm.

This first screen shot illustrates W Smith’s four-regiment brigade deploying into column formation.
Image

This second screenshot illustrates the same brigade in column formation with the centre row containing two regiments.
Image

This third screenshot is the brigade starting to form a battleline – the centre row is separating into two regiments.

I have been unable to determine any commonalities during the various times I have seen this phenomenon. For instance, no other units (friendly or foe) are nearby.

Good catch, have only seen it a couple of times but could not replicate with a save, so, no official bug report. The screenshots clearly show the issue, but without a save, Norb can't narrow it down.

Strange, it's like the AI is calling up a brigade column formation with only 3 units in it, like there's a hidden extra Drills.csv file somewhere. Really odd...

Try to get a save, and then a bug report will happen.

Thanks to our most valuable northernmost ally... :)

I e-mailed the saved file and received the protocol receipt confirmation.

This is caused by SOW's grid system in combination with the drills.

Workaround: Don't let your brigade face NW, NE, SW or SE in march column.

RebBuglar, I just e-mailed it to you.

ADukes, thanks for your response.

I don't see this glitch as anything more than just a curious visual phenomenon. I can't imagine it ever causing a game-play problem.

Thank you both for your interest.

On the other hand, you may wish to pursue the following. When I'm really in a tight spot getting my rump royally kicked, I do call upon Paul Bunyans cousins to lend a stomping foot.
