Latest Patch??

I have been away from this game for months and wanted to dig into it again. Is there an official patch to the original game? I noticed a beta patch, but to download it you need a user id and password. Is the user id and p/w the same as the user id and p/w I use to access the forums? Sorry if this has been covered in previous posts.
