Any Change for SOW: Gettysburg for iPad/iPhone

Post by JeanAllTrekkie »

Just wondering if NorbSoftDev will develop a app like SOW: Gettysburg for The iPhone / iPad. Something like this would be amazing. There are about 100 million iOS devices from iPad, iPhone to The iPod Touch. Im sure there are alot of those people that would love to see and play a game like this.

It would be very hard to put a game of this scope on such a small device. But I have been personally looking into iphone development and researching the issues. Thanks.

If it could be done, I would imagine the scale would of course have to be drastically changed. Maybe the battles could be brigade level, like one group of troops represents a brigade etc. Maybe you could move the troops around by touching the screen. A hundred other features altered, and it just might be possible. :)

Hi.

Wouldn't you think that the next logical step would be to port this game over to the MAC, XBOX 360, and the PS3? Why go to hand held, personally I would think in doing so would actually take away from the quality of the product. Believe it or not but hurting your product for gaining an extra penny is simply stupid.

This is just my personal opinion, your game, your time, and your money, do with it as you see fit.

The licensing fees to get into the console market are gigantic. Far beyond the resources of NSD to go in that direction.

I agree... perhaps a smaller scale would work.

I know there are 3D Games on The iPad that are shocking such as Extreme Racing. There are other games like First Person Shooters available for both The iPhone and iPad that use alot of graphics and resources... and they play great. Civilization Revolutions is 1 Game in particular that is big in scope and is a Amazing game.

Im sure whatever game you develop for The iPad and / or iPhone will make money. And unlike making games for Consoles which entail a license charge... to place a app on The App Store costs about 30 bucks.
