What Size of Monitor Best for Viewing SOWGB?

Post by J Canuck »

I have always thought the bigger the viewing screen the better for such a grand scale visually exciting spectacle like SOWGB. I’d love to see what it would look like on a 60” flat screen for instance. Every time I get a larger monitor, it seems not large enough.

I would think however, there would be a limitation for a desktop monitor size beyond which the visuals for this type of game start to lose something. Does anyone have any experience or an opinion with a maximum sized desktop monitor for this type of computer game?

I've actually hooked my laptop up to my 58 inch Plasma Screen HDTV and the game looked incredible... So no monitor is too large for this game.

I play, mod files and graphics, what the hey...everything, on my 42 inch widescreen HD 1080p set, with rez at 1040x768. Never had problems, use a wireless setup...will never go back to a monitor. And of course, this is for my TV viewing also. Find the addition of a TV/Radio tuner card A MUST.

The game officially supports screen resolutions up to 7680×4800 so it will be hard to find a big monitor that won't look good.

Hi.

Has anyone tried to play this game with 360 glasses, so you can look around without having to use the mouse? I'm pretty sure that not the correct name for the glasses, but you get my drift.

later!

Thanks for the good info! My family recently birthday gifted me a 42" flat screen HD TV for the "family" room. I'll have to give that a test with my computer some day no one is at home with their nose glued to the TV.
