Next Patch

Post by norb »

We are working hard on the next patch. We hope to just have one more beta, then make it official. Right now there are about 5 more bugs. We decided to go back to the original version of RakNet that we shipped with, there were issues with people dropping for no reason that we could not solve in the newer versions. The older version had connection issues, but ran solidly in the game. So we're working on solving the connection issues on our end and will hopefully have something soon.

One thing that I just can't keep quiet about is a new map! It's a non-historical, pretty boring as far as terrain features, but it does have one thing that I think that the MP players will really like. It's 4 TIMES the size of the current maps!!!! We wanted to ship this in the original game, but ran into issues, so we held off and we finally have it tested and working.

There are a lot of other cool fixes and features, a full list will be available in the patch.

Great news, I have been meaning to complain about a new larger map, now I guess that I'll have to find something else to complain about!

Brilliant! I love marching around, manouvering, trying to remain hidden etc. A bigger map will be perfect for that. Cant wait to see full changelog.

Is this new map going to replace the one you bring up in SP?

Will there be additional scenarios in the new new patch? Such as What-ifs? or East Cavalry Field (map) (scenario)?

ECF will be in the second patch. Still lots of work to do on that.

But we'll keep pumping out the scenarios. Check out the mods thread, I've got scenarios in there and so does Rebbugler.

Awesome! Is it actually bigger, or just scaled differently?

Looking forward to checking it out.
Sorry. I suffer from a serious case of typosis. Don't worry, it's not contagious :)
