You can't take back routed units, only retreated units. A unit will usually retreat once or twice before it routes. But once it routes, it's done for good.
There is a button on the toolbar to pull up the OOB. That shows all of the units stats. If you haven't checked it out yet, the manual covers it in detail.i need more help please. how t know a unit's stats? i want to know thier information quality and skill.

oh thanks for the help. also there is something strange happned in my game. i got my troops forming a skirmish formation to avoid heavy artillery bombardment. i got my unit close to the enemy artillery (they had 100% moral and 60% energy) i ordred my troops to charge the enemy and once i clicke charge they routed. with no reason they ran away. is this is a bug? help please.
cheers.

There are several factors that can cause that. The personality of the commander, they could have taken a canister shot that set them over the edge, and there is also the random factor. There's always a slight possibility regiments will route very easily.oh thanks for the help. also there is something strange happned in my game. i got my troops forming a skirmish formation to avoid heavy artillery bombardment. i got my unit close to the enemy artillery (they had 100% moral and 60% energy) i ordred my troops to charge the enemy and once i clicke charge they routed. with no reason they ran away. is this is a bug? help please.
