Question - is your arty attached directly to the infantry divisions or is it in a seperate division of its own? I cannot speak to the "sperate arty division" lagging behind your poor, tired Foot, but arty attached directly to a division will always be slow due its relationship in the computer command structure. Units, (brigades, batteries, etc.), move in accordance with where they are in the listings, as it were. You may notice this with your infantry also. 1st. Brigade steps out smartly, 2nd. Brigade not so much, 3rd. Brigade even slower. As I posted above, I always detach my batteries from the parent division so they can move faster. Example - everyone moving at the same time. You need some guns forward to support your "Forlorn Hope," being pressed by the enemy. If you batteries are still attached, even if you hit the double-time button they will still crawl forward. Detached batteries will fly up the road, because they aren't governed by their place in line, with their speed controlled by the infantry in front.
Please forgive me if you are already aware of this. Many Commanders are very new to this game or haven't played TC2M either.

I maybe wrong here, but couldn't it help by readdressing the oob. When I play corp sandbox the first thing I do is go and find my artillery commander. Then I detach all but 2 or 3 batteries. The artillery commander cannot really handle more than this for some reason. All he does is march them around an they never hardly ever set up. Leaving him with only 2 batteries greatly helps out with his performance. I have to handle the rest myself, but that is ok. If each infantry division commander had one battery with him wouldn't that help?

The ai artillery commander is who I am referring. Might it help to break up the artillery and distribute the batteries among the infantry divisions?

I agree. I have actually done that with my modded OOBs. Also, Garniers OOBs, (listed elsewhere in the mods section), have combined infantry/artillery divisions. However, my modded OOBs do not show up for MP, only SP. I should probably install his, but I am amazingly lazy.:laugh:
