Mod: Shenandoah 1862

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Sorry for the delay on updates folks. I hope no one has been waiting too anxiously for this mod.

Unfortunatly, even with the release of the SDK, I am no closer to completing my first OOB - Kernstown.

A brief report:
I am trying to include batteries under brigade commanders. This means that my brigade commander is in the division slot, a division commander is in the corps slot, and so on. I am trying to input the regiments under the one brigade commander.

As Norb said, this engine is very flexible. Unfortunatly, the formations of the division don't allow for this, and I've tried almost every way possible to input regiments in the way I want them. I have even meddled with the drills file.

So, I will continue to strive for my ideas, and I will update again, hopefully, when Kernstown is ready for this community.

I thank you for your patience, and again, I hope that this doesn't cause any problems.

Hancock

Have you looked at the OOB in GB06 "third Time is a Charm' scenario? It's an OOB that predates GB. I know it's not exactly what you are looking for, but at least it's closer than then later Corp setup OOB. If you wait for the East Cavalry Field scenario to come out, Stewart would be in Division, although I think his artillery is in Brigade, not sure. there maybe an example of this in sandlot.

Great news!

Over the weekend, I was able to find out a problem with my oob, and now, we have a brigade commander, with regiments and batteries under him!

As soon as I've cleaned up the oob, do some last minute corrections, and either randomly assign weapons or find the weapon types, Kernstown 1862 will be released.

I thank everyone for their patience.

Great news! I'm ready for this. BTW, if you need someone to playtest an OOB, I'd be pleased to do it.

I will be producing a preview copy of Kernstown, because gameplay may be slightly confusing due to this change. However, if the concept is understood, gameplay should work.

For "beta" testers, I'll need PMs of your email address. I would advise sending it to me in the form: "usernameATsiteDOTending" so they cannot be traced by email-finding web bugs that will send you spam.

Thank-you!

Beta Kernstown is now out for the community to try. Again, this isn't final, so not everything is complete.

Hancock,

Downloaded the file and installed. It appears the Rebels have no infantry. Would this be correct? OR have I done something wrong?

Rebs have no infantry? This is weird. I have been testing it and the rebs definitly have infantry. Their infantry is just under the division command, there is no brigade commander. Did you actually play the scenario, or just look at the oob on the sandbox screen?

Indeed, I did only look at the OOB. Rather disconcerting, since all Rebel listings are for artillery companies. I'll run it and check for sure.

Yes, everyone is accounted for. Good to be wrong. Will give it a real go tomorrow. Nice job, Hancock!
