I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 and installed the game, but can't get wide screen anymore. Yes,wide screen = 1 in the ini file.
Does any one have a solution?

Re:no wide screen with Windows 7
Hi,
I had this when I upgraqded to a new computer with W7.
See an old thread in this topic...entitled "new computer....etc."
Here is a copy of my fix :
COPY:
I was using the wrong terminology yesterday. It was an aspect ratio issue that I had. (Black bands either side of the game, and above at highest resolution.)
I have done some hunting, and there seems to be a thing with ATI video cards and Windows 7.
Anyway, all well now, and the game looks great. Very happy.
in case anyone else reports this issue, here is the fix :
ATI aspect ratio scaling fix: Windows 7 + Catalyst 9.12

As some of you who may noticed (those who have widescreen panels and are into retro-gaming or play games at anything other than your desktop resolution), there's a bug in the ATI drivers for W7 (maybe Vista, don't know) that disables scaling and doesn't let you pick any scaling options. Thus we're stuck into Flattenedville any time the resolution is not widescreen.
Here's the fix:
- Set your resolution to anything below your usual resolution.
- Right-click your desktop, and go to the Catalyst Control Center. Set it to advanced mode if it's not already.
- At the top left, click the "Graphics" menu, and then "Desktops & Displays".
- For your desired display, click the little black triangle in the bottom part of the screen, on the LITTLE picture, not the BIG one, and click "Configure".
- The scaling options will now be selectable, check the "Enable GPU scaling" box and select "Maintain aspect ratio". Hit Apply.
- Set your old resolution back. Even though the forementioned scaling controls are greyed out and you can actually see "Scale image to full panel size" grey-selected, don't worry.
- Go play your games!
Tested under W7 RTM and Catalyst 9.8 and 9.12 drivers.
Me again...I went with the "full screen " option, and that gives me the game in widescreen, no real distortion.
END.
Hope this helps.

Re:no wide screen with Windows 7
There is no wide screen option in our ini file. It just presents a list of resolutions that it gets from your video card and displays them.
Re:no wide screen with Windows 7
Your solution worked, sort of.
Whenever I set the resolution back to 1920 X 1200, "Enable GPU scaling" remains ticked, but the black button shifts from "Maintain aspect ration" to "Scale image to full panel size".
The result is the image is stretched out to fit my 24 inch scree, rather than a true widescreen.
All the troops, and horses, just look well fed. Or maybe they have their winter suits on too. They sure are a bunch of husky men.
Men, men, men, men, lovely men!
