Something "I" just noticed...Part 2

Post by Jack ONeill »

NorbTeam,

Have been playing THE GAME for awhile now. Just noticed two cool things you did which I casually mentioned awhile back.

1) You did make the Federal flags square instead of rectangle as in TC2M. Thanks.
2) Almost all the time, whenever Cavalry is present in the OOB, depending on the battle-type, (i.e: Hunt them down, etc.), The Cav is generally sent out AHEAD of the main body of troops. Thank you again. That used to drive me nuts in TC2M, when they would lolligag around somewhere in the middle of the column and not scouting.

BTW, have I mentioned elsewhere the Game JUST ROCKS? WOOT!

PS - now if we could just fix the damn sound issues, fix the infantry column on roads snake dance and what I call the "Battalion Idiot Dance" where Battalions in combat do strange things like move OUT of cover, turn inside out on themselves, and fail to take advantage of huge gaps in the lines to move through them, instead running all the way around them to get to their position. No hurry though.

I am pulling out my hair on the sound issues. We have a fix that works for many, but not all. I am going to rewrite this and see if that helps.

I always liked the misc. sounds (birds, etc) but don't hear these on the new game. Also, don't hear the flutter of flags mentioned on another thread. Are these supposed to be there?

Thanks

Yes, all the sounds should be there. Paul worked hard getting these in, so I need to get the code right to play them for everyone, not just a select group.
