MP and Use of Maps

I have never played online. I am hoping to do so. Can someone answer this question. If playing co-op as a suboninate. I send out Cavalry to scout and they locate enemey positions, will the player that is the Comanding General see it on his map before I send him a report I have received from the Cavalry.

It depends on your settings, but normally they will see everything that you see. But the report is probably still necessary, as they might not be regularly looking at their map.
