Maybe get rid of McAFee, sounds more trouble than it's worth although I can understand virus concerns from people, they can devastate your drive.

You could try AVG v 9.00, which is free and is completely adjustable as far as exceptions etc.

Hope this helps.

I would still try doing that link first, looked pretty straight forward.

We just did a check with the latest virus definitions from MacAffee and it says it's clean. So update your defs and you should be OK.

Considering this is not a game-related thread, I recommend uninstalling McAfee which is one of the lamest antivirus software around.

Unless you really need a STRONG and professional protection (I would pick Nod or Kaspersky in this case) I think the best freeware antivirus around is Avast. Totally free, it doesn't hamper with 99% of game files (for all games) and it's reliable, easy to configure and always up to date. Just my personal opinion. :)

Yeah, it's frustrating because we went through this with AVG, now Mac, it's ridiculous! We can't run without our game files and now they just go in and delete what ever they want.

When I purchased the Dell pc a free 3 year McAfee deal came with it,got 2 years to go. I don't fault McAfee for doing it's job of blocking what it thinks is a virus, although I do think it's support sucks. I would really have to question why?? SOW comes up as a virus? and I'm not about to flip flop my whole world to play this game by adding/deleting programs that might degrade my computer in some way, only to end up with the same results. Regardless, I thank you for your observation and suggestion on what to do.

Well you wouldn't be degrading your computer, on the contrary you'd be getting a 10 time better antivirus program with providers on all kinds of connections, including the firewall of course.
After all, this is why they gave you McAfee for free. :)

As to why it shows up as a virus that's setting sensitivity or their library just plainly is wrong, which happens at times but it's no big deal when you set the exceptions.
