Hi.
One of my pet peeves is that my men are just downright stupid.
I would like to see if a Keep Formation Tight button, or something like that be implemented, because I am having a real issue with the fact that my own men tend to always get in the way of each other. It's like being in command of Dumb, Dumber, and stupid.
Perhaps tweaking the AI, or have the option to have the commander yell out some sort of command that would keep formation boys?
It's like looking after a bunch of unruly children.
TC'ing is fine (to a point), but having to put them back into ai control is just cumbersome.
Anyway...love the game.

gotta give more information, what type of unit, what type of formation, what are they doing, what level formation, how are they getting in the way of each other?

He might be talking about the fact that at the beginning of a battle, all regiments are in lines that not intertwingle with one another, then when things get messy, probably due to the limitations of the LOS cone, regiments wheel so that basically it happens that part of one line intersects with part of another line. It would be really a very good addition if the AI used the oblique and sidestep commands on its own accord to avoid that.
The problem of this possible upgrade is the fact that such manouvers would put regiments out of ground cover but yet again, the ground cover should be prioritized at all costs and since it's also following lines (breastworks, fences, stonewalls) following this priority should make the other one subordinate.
This engine is so good that everything is really possible.

Hi.
Thanks Gshock, you have explained it perfectly.
I was trying to figure out how to explain this without looking stupid.
Thanks again Gshock.
