Resupply: design feature or bug?

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Resupply: design feature or bug?

Post by Taiaha »

I just played the Greene Alone scenario and had all my regiments TCed. I was a little surprised to find that when they were TCed they wouldn't resupply. The unit was standing right next to the wagon, and every time I hit the resupply button nothing happened. When I un-TCed the unit and hit resupply it all worked.

That sounds like a bug to me. I do not remember that as a feature, but it probably is some convoluted thing that I coded :)

Norb, your responses crack me up. You are having way too much fun with people trying to break your game!

I'll see if I can reproduce it in this scenario, and in others. Hopefully other people will doublecheck this for me as well.

My brain works exactly like RAM. I know a ton about what I'm working on currently, but if I step away I completely forget. I can pick it up again quickly, load the ram, but it's not instant recall, takes a little while. So as people as all these in depth questions, it's hard for me to remember the exact details of how I did something without going back to the code and reading it.

Actually I had a problem in the Devils Den scenario. I sent my sharpshooters to get resupplied (they were at zero) and when they arrived at the ammo wagon they just stood there and never rearmed. They were not TC'd.

Did you press the resupply button?

I think it's WAD. TC'ed units should not automatically move to an ammo wagon. That's your job to move the unit.

Several times. I did not have them TC'd and I clicked on the resupply button. As they began to move I TC'd them until the got to the wagon. In TC2M they would automatically reload while TC'd or not if they were standing at the wagon. When I noticed that they were not reloading I unclicked the TC and they still did not reload.

Now all this was after the game time had expired and I was just continuing the battle.

It could have had something to do with fatique or moral or both causing a resupply delay.

At the risk of suggesting the obvious, are you sure it was the particular unit's ammo wagon? One thing that bugged me about TC2M (and I don't know if it applies here, I haven't tested it), is that your unit might have a wagon sitting right next to it, but if it wasn't the wagon for their particular division you couldn't reload from it.
