Game stops responding
Game stops responding
I am running Windows7 on a quad core i7 with 6 GB memory and a Geforce 8800 GTX . The game installed and activated fine. Running directX latest version and have installed 9c. Every time that I start a tutorial or scenario the will go through the loading process and get to the press space to continue. At this point the game stops responding.
I have tried launching the game running as administrator, changing the compatibility mode to XP SP2

> Gettysburg\SOWGB.exe Report Id: f1f9b17d-4301-11df-8ec1-005056c00008
Have tried this as well:
Please edit your SOWGB.ini file located in the WORK subdirectory of your SOWGB installation and set "Full Screen=1" to "Full Screen=0"
(w/o ""), then try again.
and this:
Two things you could try: Update your graphic card driver and lower the game's graphic options.
Please attach the SOWGB.log file located in the C:\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work\ folder after your next crash.
BTW, the "D3DERR_DeviceLost" error is gone since installing DX9, right?
Any help would be appreciated - thanks

Re:Game stops responding
Does it happen on every game mode? Sandbox? SP Scenario's?
Re: Game stops responding
Welcome Dan. Nice that you made it.
Did you try the beta patch?
Did you try the beta patch?
Re:Game stops responding
yeah - happens with all
Re: Game stops responding
YEs - I loaded the beta this morning - but I have not rebooted - same issue
Re: Game stops responding
Try running in a 1024x768 window (not full screen), turn down all the options and see if that works. This starts at the min specs.
Does anything happen when you press the space bar?
Does anything happen when you press the space bar?
Re: Game stops responding
When I press the space bar nothing happens and the game just sits, Task manager shows the game as not responding. I have waited 1/2 hour to see if the game will finally respond, but it has not. I have booted clean (making sure nothing else starts and same result) thanks
Re: Game stops responding
OK, Let me know what happens when you run in the mode that I suggested.
Re: Game stops responding
I tried the lowest resolution and 1024x768, no luck. I then uninstalled and booted to an XP drive and installed (on the same PC)and the game works. The game did not work on x64 Windows 7. I would like to get this to work on the x64 Win7, so any ideas let me know. On the XP install, running the game with highest resolution and no issues - thanks
Re: Game stops responding
I run the game on win7 64 bit every day. It's my development environment now. Other people here and members of the dev team also use win7. I think that yours is the only one that it won't run on.
