Sounds I cannot here in Battle.
Hi.
Love the game.
While I was playing the first scenraio, and my troops are still executing their marching orders, I was watching others heavy in battle, and I could not hear a thing.
Then when I pulled back about 50 yards or so, I heard very faint musket fire.
A raging battle was taking place, and no sound.
Anyway, back to the game, and thanks Norb.
IGNORE THIS...found the solution. Sorry for the bother.

Re: Sounds I cannot here in Battle.
Thanks Adukes, I appreciate it.
Re: Sounds I cannot here in Battle.
If you dont find the solution in the above and if is only the battle sounds which are your main problem--it is easy to increase the volume of those particular files--which is what I have done.
Go to game folder Base\Sounds---find the 4 files named "battle 1,2,3,4."
With each in turn Rt.click the file----Then Lt. click "Record"---Lt.click "Effects" --
Lt.Click "Increase Volume 25%"------Do this last one enough times to make enough impact on the volume-----I think I used 4 clicks. (You can always reduce the volume again in steps of 25% if you wish.
And of course you can use it with any of the.wav files--I also increased the volume of the "March" files as the marching music was also very faint.
Cheers and good luck.....

Re: Sounds I cannot here in Battle.
It would be nice if these tweaked sound files could be zipped and posted. I suppose not in here due to filesize limitations but perhaps on rapidshare or megaupload, would you please, pcelt?
Is it possible that the sounds i sometimes hear and don't hear are perfectly working but it is only a matter of volume within the engine that these tweaked files would fix? Very curious.

Re: Sounds I cannot here in Battle.
GShock--It is really so simple to do---if you are concerned just Save your "Sounds" folder first and you can always copy the whole folder back if anything goes totally pear-shaped.
If your sounds are just low volumed (eg in battle gunfire or march music) you can certainly correct this with modding those .wav files volume. And you would need to do this to the level you would personally want( my tweaking might well not meet your needs)
Just follow the steps I indicated---if you want to ask any further questions just ask in this thread. I know you can do this -.......

I know I did that with sounds on XP before but can’t seem to adjust them in vista I agree with Gshock If someone could turn then up and give a download link for the file they would do a lot of us a big favour. If you dont find the solution in the above and if is only the battle sounds which are your main problem--it is easy to increase the volume of those particular files--which is what I have done.
