Brigade vs Brigade

In single player sandbox "Brigade vs Brigade". I choose a division commander from the OOB. When the game starts I am given a single brigade. However, the enemy has more than one brigade. Is this normal for the enemy to have more than one brigade in

Are you the rebs? The system tries to balance the numbers, and it's possible that you can be facing more than one brigade if you have a big brigade.

OK, as long as I know the system is trying to balance the numbers I understand why I might be up against more than one brigade. Sounds logical.

If you want a brigade v brigade battle select a brigade Commander (not a Div Commander) from the OOB and with that brigade you will face one enemy brigade.

That's not how it works. If you set the brigade setting in the battle size, you will get one brigade, and the computer will try to get a balanced enemy force. If you select a division commander and brigade battle size, it randomly picks a brigade under the division commander you have selected.

I dont read the sandbox instructions in the same way as you---I much prefer my interpretation which works very successfully and produces balanced battles with brigade or division----and I control the brigade I select in either a brigade size battle or a div. size battle or the Div. I select in a Div or Corps size
battle
It seemns to me that in your interpretation you would not be choosing your brigade at all but randomly given one by the Div commander. That is not what the manual states as the rationale.

I was just stating what happens if you set brigade battle size and pick a division (or higher) commander.

If you select brigade to command--but choose Div v Div battle size---you will still command the brigade you selected but fighting within its division and facing an enemy division.
Thats my underestanding of the system and the way it seems to work for me.
