3/30/10 CoOp MP AAR

Post by sweeteye »

Played a really great CoOp MP last night. Hosted by Jam3 along with Dorsy Pender and myself- 26th Ohio. We played as the Union with Jam3 playing as General Wadsworth,Dorsey Pender as Wainwrights' artillery and myself as General Robinson. We played a first day scenario....cannot remember which one it was now. I was initially positioned on the far right of the line with General Wadsworth in the center and Wainwrights'artillery on the left along the Chambersburg Pike. I was ordered to the left to support Wainwright and made a long march to reach my position. The Confederates began making an assault upon Wainwrights' position and I was requested to advance to support the artillery. I did so at the double and went into line in front of the artillery position. The Confederates were attacking in force and hand to hand fighting broke out all along my line. Gradually my infantry regiments began to rout to the rear and I was left with only one regiment to fight with. The artillery poured in heavy blasts of canister which was able to stop the Confederate assault cold.General Wadsworth advanced on the right to attack the Confederate artillery positions and then made their way over to relieve my one regiment. The Confederates seemed to have no further desire to attack and the clock ran out with the Federals scoring a Major Victory.

This was the hardiest fought battle i have fought in yet, it was a blast tho.
The canister saved the day that and sweeteye's whole division.

One thing I am wondering about is why when my settings were on best for uniform quality why I was seeing lower grade uniforms in Multiplayer?

The host must have had their uniform settings on low on the MP settings. The MP options override everyone else's options.

I see... I kind of thought that but was not sure. Could have swore that the host said he runs everything on full in chat. Oh well...

Why is that? I have a slower machine and high res uniforms kill me. If I end up in a MP game with them, it screws everyone up. Shouldn't my graphics settings override the host's? At least for uniforms, I can't see how a quality difference would affect gameplay between machines.

No only the host can set the MP graphic settings, and they will override everyone else's. So if you have yours on Low, and the host wants Best uniforms, you will be forced to use them. It would be a good idea to tell the host in the lobby before the game starts to use low settings.
