DID YOU KNOW:
DID YOU KNOW: A battery of 12-Pounders, with two cassisons per gun, needed 20 teams plus ten spares?
DID YOU KNOW: Batteries usually maneuvered at a TROT?
DID YOU KNOW: From the command, "ACTION - FRONT," a battery could come into action and fire the first round in 25 seconds?
DID YOU KNOW: The weight of a 12-Pounder gun and limber, complete with ammunition and implements, weighed 3,875 pounds?
DID YOU KNOW: The Whitworth Breech-Loading Cannon could send its shell nearly 6 miles?

Re:DID YOU KNOW:
DID YOU KNOW: A brigade of 4 regiments of 600 men each would require almos 1,000 yards of road?
DID YOU KNOW: The average regiment carrying approximately 45 pounds of equipment would average 3 miles an hour?
DID YOU KNOW: The common step for infantry was 70 yards in a minute (90 steps); 86 yards at quick time (110 steps); 109 yards at the Double-Quick (140 steps), all covering "smooth" ground?
DID YOU KNOW: A full strength infantry regiment consisted of 10 companies, each of 97 men and 3 officers...but the actual strength was usually less than half?

Re:DID YOU KNOW:
If I knew I was falling behind, I'd take a withdrawal and make up for it over the summer. To each their own devices on how they handle getting in over their head.

I've been in over my head since I was born. I just blame my bad grammar and spelling on old age . . . and the fact I'm a good ole boy from Kentucky . . . most people, when they find that out think; "Yup, that pretty much explains it."
