Hi all. Just wanted to (re)introduce myself. Some of you may remember me hanging around on the TC2M boards, especially when we were running the scenario competitions. Still playing the game and still loving it, and damn excited that the launch of this one is so close. I'm looking forward to getting schooled by many of you "in person" as it were, rather than just being schooled in the scenario contests!
I'm also trying to do my part to promote the game. I run a small but growing game studies blog, intelligentlyartificial.org and I wrote a piece encouraging people to check this game out so it won't get quite so swamped by all the other RTS games coming out this year (it is a pretty good year to be an RTS fan, but, as always, pretty lean pickings if you are also a Civil War buff!).
Anyway, just wanted to say a formal howdy. Now I can go back to rubbing my hands in anticipation!

Where is Vuhginya? It looks like it sounds like Virginia. Welcome to the board.

That was my best phonetic attempt at doing Shelby Foote.

It was a phonectic entrapment like Shelby Foote's, "Vuhginya", other than that, it would be verbal diarrhea. :laugh:BOSTON wrote:Hey, Boston - Which word: "old", "Mississippi", or "Campaign?" He did an excellant job in the PBS Civil War series by Ken Burns, that is why I bought his book. He does have more of a flavor (knowledge) for the western Civil War action and backdrops. His GB book was not at the top of the reading list for the game coming out, although when I go to Border's Book Store I'll pan through some of his other writings. Yes! I do wish this forum had spell correct!BOSTON wrote:Yes indeed, but I fell in love with the way he would say "Virginia!"Is'nt Shelby Foote from Olemississippe, read his book on the Red River Camqhain (never could spell that word right), got it for a dollar at a book sale.
