Definitly my favorite scenario.

I'm currently researching (just for fun) a little bit about Sigel's corps in the 2nd Day at 2nd Manassas, and I'm finding a lot of varied information!

Sources show that Schenck's entire Division was actually on the west side of Groveton, blocking Longstreet's advance, Milory is put anywhere from where the Groveton-Sudley Road crosses the railroad to the middle of the Groveton Woods (east), and Schurz's division either assaults in two separate attacks, or coordinated attacks. Jackson's defensive line somehow has 3 lines, with a quarter of every front line brigade in the second line (how those brigades span the entire sunken railroad I'll never know), or just two lines. Branch's Brigade is either on the right flank, or the left flank, of Hill's division. The list of unknowns goes on and on...

Oh I'm not saying Bull Run and 2nd Manassas PC games are bad games. Not by a long shot I play them more than anything else now except a few choice other games. I'm just saying I would have preferred Gettysburg and the MAPS and battles moreso. I didn't grow up playing Bull Run or 2nd Manassas board wargames I grew up playing Gettysburg, Antietam and Shilo. ;)

I like this style of wargaming most of all now because it isn't a clickfest and I can command at practically any stage I want to from just a mere detachment to full army commander.

I would ask for one improvement and that would be the ability to take over the command at any stage DURING a game instead of before a game starts. Meaning if I start out as a detachment I would have the ability to take over a a division commander all the way up to army commander.
BTW The Wargamer suks nowadays. :) They still talkin bout you Norb. Same ole fools and retards like Son of Montfort and Jarhead and most especially Gusington.

But is that realistic?

There ought to be some realistic part to this!

Though, I must say, when my corps command gives me terrible orders, I really would like to take his position then.

You kind of just contradicted yourself... "There ought to be some realistic parts... But if I get bad orders I want to take the other guy's job?" Did the corps commanders kick Burnside out of the army when he ordered them to attack at Fredericksburg, did Pickett take Longstreet's corps command at Gettsyburg because they both knew it wasn't going to work?..
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

I like it too.. This would especially be cool in MP, being able to take over troops on the fly, or also able to assign troops to other human players on the fly. Something to be added to the list.. :)

AG: I meant sometimes I have fits of rage and would really like the commander to end up on the enemy side of the line..., but I don't think taking your commander's position is a good idea unless your commander was killed!

I would like to see a suggestion orders ability, so you can suggest that some units help you out, attack somewhere, hold your flank, etc. Now that would be realistic and cool!
